Paradise Cafe in Santa Barbara

I've been a customer of Paradise Cafe since as long as I can remember, with the restaurant being under new ownership I decided to give it a try. I didn't know what I was going to expect, so the wife and i gave it a shot. To be honest I miss the Paradise Cafe of old, the prices of some menu items have been lowered, however most of the items on the menu have seen significant price increases, not to mention the fact that the short ribs are no longer on the menu. If you are a local that was used to the beloved Paradise Cafe, unfortunately this is no longer the same go to spot for us locals. It breaks my heart to write this since we both had high hopes, only to be let down.

Incredible service! I got the swordfish tacos and are the best fish tacos I have ever had! Outdoor patio with a calm vibe.

Absolutely love this place. We had a gift card here, which led us to come, but we will absolutely be coming back. The food was great, the patio and atmosphere were awesome. They have Anchor Steam on tap!

Love the Paradise Cafe, they have a really great patio although it's very noisy due to street construction right now. We got calamari and split a burger, both were really great. The service was great, We will definitely be back

I am surprised this restaurant isn't rated higher. The food was fabulous, the employees were great and the food delivery was fast.

Great old school spot for lunch, dinner and/or drinks. There is a separate bar area down stairs if you prefer that environment. The atmosphere is "Santa Barbara casual" but with an upscale vibe.

Unfortunately the food was disappointing. The meat was not properly cooked and the olives were out of a can on the Greek salad. The service was good.

I love paradise! I take my wife for lunch every chance I get.. great inside dining or beautiful outside dining.. the food is excellent and service is timely. This has become one of my favorite places.

Such delicious food. We eat only seafood. They have a great selection. Glad they r open late.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR PARADISE CAFE IN SANTA BARBARA: If I could give this place zero stars I would. The food quality is awful. The meals are so outdated and it's more like a Denny's level quality meal with a higher price tag. I mean the ambiance is OK but the food quality is more important these days. Also have to say the owner wasn't pleasant at all.

yummy Santa Barbara cafe! their mussels are delish, and they have lots of fresh fish options so go wild. also their garlic mashed potatoes are so gooooood. definitely recommend for a casual lunch or night out

Beautiful spot very quiet and peaceful! Just far enough away from the crowds on state street. Best chicken salad in Santa Barbara! And the staff are all extremely warm and polite! My new favorite spot to stop for salad and a beer

We like a lot eating out. Last night we found this magnificent place which we didn’t know before. We spent a beautiful experience there with exceptional food and an efficient stuff and a distinguished cook. We put this fine restaurant in our list and we will surely visit again very soon. We warmly recommend.

There is a reason Paradise Cafe has been around for such a long time. Great place to meet your friends , have dinner or just to go for some drinks and appetizers

Disappointed. Very limited menu. Veggie burger not edible. Grilled chicken salad had very little chicken and it was not grilled. Seems like Oak grill is no longer used. Drinks were so so. The basil cucumber tom collins is tasty, but all ice and very little actual drink. Very sad as my last meal at the old paradise was superb.

I came here for breakfast, and waitperson here said they hadn't served breakfast since the 1st of January, 2020. Obviously, they need to update their information. Also, WIFI password didn't work. This girl working here said the password usually doesn't work.I used come here quite often when I lived here in Santa Barbara during mid eighties. This time I came to visit here. I was so excited to come to this cafe. So disappointed. Bye Paradise cafe I used to love.

Food was absolutely delicious!! Service was also on point! We sat in the quaint little outdoor area.

Always a favorite, new owners have infused this SB icon with new energy, and the food is excellent. Tourists just need to walk one block off State St. to enjoy SB cuisine on the patio, also fun to sit inside at the bar as a solo diner

My husband and I have been to this local favorite many times over the past 6 years. The food is always fresh and tasty. Serving staff is friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Very nice menu with reasonable prices. Indoor and outdoor patio seating is available. Great location in downtown S.B. with ample parking on the street or in public parking lot 1.5 blocks away. This is a great restaurant for business, meeting friends or simply relaxing with family on the weekends or during the week. Highly recommended.

Great for a variety of occasions: a Friday lunch with friends at City Hall, a date night outside under the heat lamps, or a Sunday Mother's Day brunch. Faves are french toast with bacon and fresh fruit, the Calamari steak with house salad, and mimosas (if I'm not driving).

A favorite weekend lunch/early dinner spot; they stay open after lunch through the normal dinner time. Their Paradise Burger is my regular meal, the Steak Sandwich is delicious as well. Anchor Steam on tap. 4 stars because although the food is great service is hit or miss, often have to wait a while for your server to make their way back to you.

I didn't think this place would show so much favoritism (or racism) for being such a business to the community. We were seated 10 minutes before a couple was seated next to us. They got their drinks before us on top of faster service on refills, the food (steak and a salmon), their check, etc. I'm a 37 year local and disappointed to see this kind of service. I've aslo worked in the restaurant business for 7 years and for it NOT being a packed place it was bad for how many employees working with this kind of service. To top if off the bad service and being a food critic, the grilled artichoke was lacking a "grill" flavor as well as flavor in general. Second we ordered the chicken Cesar salad which the chicken was dry and lacking flavor. The other was a greek salad. If you think this is great food you need to wake your taste buds up a little bit. If you're aware enough keep in mind we ordered salads, not steak and salmon.

This is a friendly restaurant with a great relaxed ambiance. The dining area is separated into different areas so the noise between tables is greatly reduced. The bar is connected downstairs through a staircase and had great happy hour specials. They have a romantic outside patio area that is covered and charmingly decorated. The menu here has wide range and the food is excellent. Finally, the staff is friendly and acommadating.

This is a cozy and unique food venue with kind service and food that you would expect to taste as it does. The price attached to that food however, borders on expensive. The atmosphere is warm and will leave you with a good experience overall.

Classic Santa Barbara spot with a great patio and retro bar downstairs. The burgers and steaks are cooked on the oak grill, and along with the fresh salads, and seafood dishes the menu has something for everyone. Not a bad wine list with some local favorites and interesting imports.

Paradise Cafe just reopened under new ownership, a new chef and a crew that exudes love of the place. It is going to be popular.

Great burger but service dropped the ball a little. They took our order and 20 min later the waiter came back to ask about what we were having. But we figured he didn't put it in till after he had come back . Burger was good 2nd best I have found in the area

Only had drinks here and the pour was heavy. I'm not complaining buy I think the bartender is trying to get bigger tips by giving away the booze. Did not have anything to eat but, it seems like this place used to be the place to be it could use some updates.

This restaurant is a hidden jewel! The food is exceptional and the service is fantastic.
